Silly Boys!

Well, Saturday started out as any 2-year old would wish: a gourmet breakfast from Mom! If you know Bryce, you know he LOVES to eat his num-nums (food)! So, this morning he requested his usual.. "Mama, I want eggy, waffles". What this means is B would love 2 delicious eggs with cheese, and 2 waffles! One would never think a 2-year old could eat all this, but he does-everytime! I'm so blessed I have a good eater! Makes Mommy so very happy!

After breakfast, we were getting ready to meet up with my mom, Grancy, to go shopping for baby furniture. I know it's early, but as you will learn, I am a BIG planner! I'll probably have the nursery done the week after we find out the sex-not kidding! We already have the beautiful, new, white/antiqued crib we were given as a gift, so now I'm on a mission to find a dresser/changing table to go with it! So, as I am talking on the phone to Kyle (he had a baseball tournament which they WON-Yeah!!), I find my SWEET, INNOCENT, baby boy doing this.....

"HEY, MOM, I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG..."

"OK, MAYBE JUST A LITTLE BAD...NOT GONNA LOOK
YOU IN THE EYES"

"EVIDENCE...SHAMPOO BOTTLE OPEN,
ON CABINET, ALL OVER BRYCE'S HAIR"

"LOOK AT MY NEW HAIR GEL, MOM"

After a much-needed time-out and clean-up, we were ready to start the beautiful/COLD/WINDY weekend! We went to run errands which included a trip to Babies-R-
Us for some big-boy potty-training pants, diapers, and preggy-pops for me. Just call today the official "not-so-good-nausea-day". I'm praying that it will get better-maybe in 3 weeks when I'm in the 2nd trimester, right?! Here's B's attire for the day- (He looked like the kid from "A Christmas Story" all bundled up-I think he had 4 layers on!)

We ate lunch at Fuddruckers which brought back memories of my childhood..dipping those yummy fries in cheese, getting a free ticket for a cookie, etc! We had fun, but especially watching B eat ALL his lunch, and ask me "Who's that man" about everyone that would walk by-so funny! I wish I could say my lunch stuck with me, but at least I tried, right? That cheeseburger was good, though!

Next, we went to get a Birthday card for Bryce, not our Bryce, but "Big Bryce" as we call him. The wonderful, sweet Nanny who watches Bryce, Stephanie, has 3 boys-Bryce, Dylan, and Ryder. Today was Bryce's B-day party-turned 7!! BTW-side note-Steph's boys, Bryce and Dylan-that is our Bryce's name-Bryce Dylan-funny, huh?! Anyhow, we got ready for the party, pulled up promptly to the party at 2:25 p.m. (started at 2:30 p.m.), and wouldn't you know it-B was fast asleep! So, we drove around for 30 minutes looking at beautiful homes in McKinney near where Kyle and I got married, then headed to the party!

All I can say about the party was....Bounce House + 20 Kids + Cake=The BEST time B has had since his Birthday! He seriously was in that bounce house for the entire party. He would come in for me to wipe his nose, grab a sip, and bite to eat, then he was off with all the big kids! It was so sweet to watch all the older kids take care of him. He had a blast, Thanks Steph!!

Then, we headed to my parents house for the evening. My nausea is getting worse as the day goes on, so my sweet Mom has been cooking for us a ton! We ate dinner, watched a great movie-Finding Neverland, and relaxed-Well, I relaxed-thanks Mom and Dad! B was an animal and a sweetheart. He did so good going on the potty tonight, in fact, he insisted on some reading material....(B, don't kill Mommy when you're 16 and you see this post...but I couldn't' resist!)

It was a great day and I'm looking forward to a relaxing Sunday with my Husband! He has been so busy coaching this week, but it was all worth it-they WON their first tournament-YEAH!! I'm so proud of you, honey, and Love you so much!

Virgo or Libra??

Well, today was my "official" OB visit with the Dr...you know, where she goes over everything, and I mean everything you can imagine from diet, exercise, sex, changes, medication, testing that is optional, etc... I guess it's been so long, (only 2 years), that I forgot about all the "FUN" stuff that goes along with this "official" appointment. So, I am visiting with the girls..nurses, LOVE them by the way...I actually call on the Dr's in the office and I have known my Dr. for over 17 years-scary!

Anyways, after getting the dreaded weight check (I actually lost weight)...because this peanut is sooooo stubborn already; the blood pressure check (100/70-YES), and giving Jo, my nurse, a beautiful NEON specimen (urine), I was set to visit with the Dr! So, I follow Jo into the exam room, which was actually a room with a sonogram machine, and she says "Lindz, get fully undressed, and put on this gown". I mean, we've all been there-right? So, for the next 10 minutes I try to figure out how to put on the gown-does the smaller opening go in the front, or the larger opening....when I finally figure it out, Dr. U (that's what I'll refer to her as for privacy) walks in the room..."Lindsey, are you ready for another one?" I'm like absolutely! She then tells me we are not only having a sonogram to check the progress of the baby, but she wants to make sure there is only 1 baby in there! I'm like, "Huh?" She thought there could be 2 babies because my nausea is so bad, and progress has been so fast. I'm thinking to myself "Lord, I already thought you blessed us with ONE, is this possible?" Well, before this can be established, Dr. U says first we need to do a....(most dreaded exam)..Pap!! Yikes, and she also had to check my cervix..sorry if this is TMI, but I get really nervous for these exams, but as soon as they're over, I'm like, what was I worried about?!

So, now for the FUN part-looking at the BABY!! I was so amazed and so was Dr. U at the progress, in fact, she said you're 9 weeks already! There is FOR SURE 1 baby!! I actually saw the much larger body, little hands which are still forming moving, and the rapid heartbeat! It is so amazing to see, and truly a testament of His work! Such a miracle! I feel so blessed!! Here is our little peanut below...

After I got dressed, I went with Dr. U to her office to chat. She was looking over my file, and know that I LOVE my Dr.-she is everything I want in the Dr. who is taking care of my precious baby, and my female health. She is mostly ALL business which I prefer, but today she cracked me up. She joked that WE were having this baby in September NOT October because September has Sapphires, and that way I'll get great jewelry! So funny! Seriously, though, the reason I will most-likely have the baby in September is because when I go into labor, I give birth very quickly. Bryce took a total of 3 hours from getting to the hospital and pushing him out! So, I'll keep you all updated along the way, but today we are excited and feel very blessed whether or baby is a Virgo or Libra???

Brush-up!

Bryce loves, and I mean looovvveeesss his Daddy! He imitates everything he does. I knew this, but didn't realize to what extent he watches every move we make, but especially Kyle! You know, kids at this age repeat everything you say, imitate gestures, etc...but the other night I realized how funny this all is! I'm sure if we are blessed with a daughter, the same will follow, with her imitating me putting on makeup (although B does this!), combing my hair and straightening it (Oh, B does this, too!), and putting on yummy-smelling lotion (oh,oh, B also does this!!)

So, Kyle has this great electric toothbrush that he uses. B always wants to watch Kyle brush his teeth with it. After Kyle finishes, he cleans it, wipes it off, and puts the cap back on and puts it back on the charger/stand.

Well, this is what we found the other evening after B brushed his teeth!!!
Do these look similar to you??

If you notice, he has taken a cap from my hairspray and put it over his toothbrush to match Kyle's toothbrush-genius! Ha Ha!! B also washed the toothbrush off and wiped it on the towel EXACTLY like Kyle does!

I guess kids really do pay attention to EVERYTHING! This was a great lesson for us, and a funny one!

Bryce-ism's

Over the past several months, Bryce has been developing verbally. We get to enjoy new sayings, questions, and statements which are usually sweet & hilarious. Here are some from today....
Stephanie (Bryce's nanny): " Bryce, what's wrong" (He was pouting)

Bryce: " I want my Mommy bad" (Then he called my cell phone and left me a message that he wanted me to pick him up NOW and go to the park).

After I picked him up, we headed to the park for some fresh air and playtime! He was all over the slides, climbing on everything, and finally he reached out his hands and grabbed the bars, and did a Pull-Up! Wow, maybe gymnastics in his future...or just training for football?!

Grancy, my Mom, (that is what B calls her b/c her name is Nancy!) was so sweet to join us at the park so I could take a phone-call from my OBGYN-you know, exciting pre-paperwork questions like "Mrs. Houser, have you or anyone in your family had any XYZ diseases, etc.." Fun, let me tell ya!

I was having some cramping after the park...I think it's normal, just ligaments stretching, and that belly is trying to grow! So, we headed home to start dinner, bath, play some more. Well, B wanted NO part in taking his jacket off, and he picked up one of his crosses on his bookshelf and told me "I want to put the cross on this wall"...see pic below! I still can't believe he is speaking in complete sentences-scary!

Yes, he was in his diaper AND jacket-great look, huh?! So, what do you think-good spot for the cross?!! Ha Ha!

One last sweet thing B said today was..

"The flowers are beautiful like Mommy"...OH MY HEART MELTED! Then I wondered if he will feel that way when he's 16-probably not, but I'm going to savor every sweet moment now!

I hope your Monday started off with many blessings!

Our Kidney Bean!

Ok, so I am so fascinated by the miracle of this baby growing inside me, that I look every week at the development/changes, and I thought I would share where "Baby Houser" is right now! This is from babycenter.com.

He/She has Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

You may notice that your bra is getting more snug. Soon you'll likely need a larger size with better support. Rising levels of hormones cause breast growth and other tissue changes, all in preparation for lactation. Your breasts may continue to grow throughout pregnancy. Don't be surprised if you go up a cup size or two, especially if it's your first baby. Keep this in mind, and allow for room to grow when investing in a new bra.Feeling fatigued? Hormonal changes — in particular, a dramatic rise in progesterone — may be contributing to your sluggishness. Nausea and vomiting can certainly cost you energy, too. And you may be having trouble getting a good night's sleep at this point, especially if you're uncomfortable or find you need to get up to pee.

ALL of this is so true, my poor Husband has had to deal with my constant whining, moaning, nausea, and discomfort, but it will be worth it when we are blessed with a beautiful baby! Also, thank you, Kyle, for being so supportive and sweet! I love you! Here is a pic of B and Kyle from this summer-already learning to shave! :)

One last note-Thank you, honey, for changing the garbage disposal this weekend-not a fun chore! You can do anything!! Love you!....I really wish I had a pic of this-hilarious-Kyle beat the old garbage disposal for a good hour b/c it would NOT come out! :)

My First Post: Amen!

Well, today it is official...I have a Blog! Yeah, I can't tell you how excited I am to finally make time to Blog about everything important to me! Today was an awesome morning-Kyle and I met some new friends, Melanie and Mario, at church and attended their Sunday school class. We loved it! Some things I took away from it were new friendships, but most importantly to crave the preciousness of Jesus, and that Faith is truly a gift from GOD! I hope you all had a wonderful morning as well!

Of course, it wouldn't be complete without a post-church meal! So, Kyle and I headed to Jason's Deli for some yummy food. Now, lately nothing and I mean NOTHING is appetizing due to the little peanut, well, actually the size of a kidney bean...that will be a later post....Anyhow, but I've been praying for this nausea to subside and today, so far, it has! Thank you Lord!

Now, I am off to the airport to pick up B...aka Bryce! Yes, he is a 2-year old with more frequent flyer miles than most adults! Just look how precious....

B, Daddy and I missed you so much this weekend!
Love, Mommy!
